Abigail Ministries
"A woman of beauty and understanding"
Sarah Bunjo
Our Founder
Abigail Ministries was founded by Sarah Bunjo, a trained stenographer, was raised in an Anglican family. While still a young student she met, and without the consent of her parents, started cohabiting with a Muslim man, with whom she spent ten years.

In 1983, shortly after she had moved in with the man, she gave her life to Christ. As a born again Christian, the Lord began dealing with Sarah deeply on different issues.

First, she learnt that as a believer, she had to humble herself and obey God's Word in all areas of life. Even though she was not in a proper marriage relationship, she learnt how to be a Christian woman in a relationship with an unsaved man. The lessons God taught her are now what she now teaches women who are married to non-believer husbands.

Secondly, after a while in salvation, God began convicting her over the wrong relationship she was in with the Muslim man. This became the ultimate acid test in her relationship with God.

She was used to living a wealthy lifestyle, courtesy of the Muslim, and the thought of leaving the man posed so many challenges. After a long struggle, however, she gave in and left the man. She proved that she loved God more than anything else in life.

For two years she passed through some of the toughest experiences in her life. Then God brought into her life "the most handsome man in the whole world", Apostle John Bunjo, who married her in church. Together they have five children.

In 2001, Sarah joined her husband in full time ministry, and in 2003 in obedience to God's leading, she founded Abigail Ministries, as the women's ministry of Christian Restoration Ministries International.
Our Vision
"To empower women so that they can realise their full potential
in the different roles that they are called to play in the Church and society at large"

Abigail Ministries exists to offer biblical answers to the many questions, challenges and needs that the 21st century woman has. Following the example of Abigail of old, Abigail Ministries aims at encouraging and helping women become as beautiful as they can be, first spiritually, and then mentally, financially and physically. The vision for the ministry is drawn from 1 Samuel 25:3:

"Now the name of the man was Nabal and the name of his wife Abigail. The woman was of good understanding (intelligent) and beautiful, but Nabal the husband was wicked".
Abigail ConferenceOur Mission

The mission of Abigail Ministries is to employ every Godly means to enhance the lives of women. Encouraging women to minister to one another, since they understand their own lives best, Abigail Ministries mission is to enhance the gifts and talents women possess by providing avenues for putting them to use.

Teaching women to have the skills where they can help themselves, though not educated. We hope to open up a vocational school where we can teach women tailoring, catering and handicrafts such that a woman even in the deepest village can sustain herself and her family.
Our Departments
Abigail Seminars & Conferences
These are the premier events of the ministry. Quarterly, national conferences are conducted, with delegates from all over the country; and every three months a seminar for all women is done in Kampala. These are times when women are given in depth biblical instructions on all aspects of womanhood.

Push
Pray until something happens. We encourage women to be patient and not to divorce though the man may be as wicked as Nabal.

Sarah and Hagar
This is a special ministry to women in polygamous relationships. In Uganda, some born again women find that they have to share husbands with other women, and this results in many wounds. Abigail Ministries reaches out to these women in special monthly meetings.

Mother Twin - Name of Prophecy
This arm of Abigail Ministries targets married women who have not yet had children even though they want to (refer to Abraham and Sarah). Every month a special meeting is held for them.

Esther
This is a specialised ministry to pastor's wives. These ladies face challenges that are unique as they serve God in their churches as leaders, mothers, wives and often preachers. Abigail Ministries offers forums for them to meet and share, fellowship, instruct and encourage each other.

Dorcas
This department is charged with the responsibility of community development and welfare.
