Re-Discovering the Heritage of our Faith

Hosted by Apostles John and Sarah Bunjo
5th to 8th January 2010

Venue: Praise Park City of the Lord - Half Kilometre from Bombo town
2010 Levites’ theme
John & Sarah Bunjo
For almost two years now, the Lord has been urging Apostle Bunjo to revisit the spiritual foundations that were laid in this country by the fore fathers of our faith: those man and women who first received and lived and preached the gospel. Today’s Church seems to be very far removed from those foundations, and we can all see the terrible results we reaping. The Lord has been talking about re-digging the wells of revival. That is why, the the theme for 2010 Levites’ Retreat will be:

RE-DISCOVERING THE HERITAGE OF OUR FAITH

Background
In 1998, after 15 years of pastoral ministry, the Lord directed John Bunjo and his wife Sarah to leave conventional pastoral ministry and launch an apostolic work with the mandate to restore the Church back to her true foundations. The mandate was based on:

"And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt;
you shall raise up the foundations
of many generations;
you shall be called the repairer of the breach,
the restorer of the streets to dwell in"
Isaiah 58:12

For almost 11 years now, John and Sarah have laboured to fulfill this divine assignment by reaching out to the body of Christ worldwide with the message of restoration. They founded Christian Restoration Ministries International, a registered NGO, with headquarters in Uganda and liaison offices in the UK and USA. The ministry operates multifaceted programs including Encounters; a Bible school; daily lunch hour radio broadcasts; Abigail Women’s Ministries; books, magazines, audio tapes, CDs, DVDs, etc.

The Levites’ Retreat
In mid 2006, Apostle Bunjo was in the United Kingdom, when the Lord directed him to get back home to Uganda and organize a retreat specifically for leaders only. This instruction turned Levites Retreat 2007out to be prophetically timed, because since then the leadership of the Pentecostal Church in Uganda has gone through several tough challenges. It has been as though a sinister plot was hatched to harass, demean, discredit and wear out Church leaders. God’s instruction to John was just one more proof that God longs to encourage, strengthen, comfort and guide his faithful leaders, as well as bring back into line those who try to corrupt and bring a reproach to the name of Christ, ignorantly or deliberately. That is exactly what the Levites Retreat is about. Since its inception, numerous leaders from all over Uganda have participated in the annual Levites’ Retreat.

Objectives
  1. To create a spiritual environment in which leaders can have fresh encounters with the Lord as they start the new year, away from the routines and environs of their churches and ministries
  2. To provide a forum through which leaders can fellowship, network and minister to one another
  3. To encourage, comfort, restore and revitalize leaders who may be low in spirit
Your children will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities... Isaiah 58:12(NLT)
