The greatest challenge facing church leaders in remote areas of Uganda is lack of training; anointing without knowledge destroys. Church leaders in Semuto, Nakaseke district, began serving the Lord out of burning passion, but lacked the basic training to be effective leaders.

Problems identified are:

• Some cannot write, even in their own language.
• Some can understand spoken English, but they cannot understand the written word.
• Some cannot afford to own a bible containing both the Old and New Testaments.
• Some do not understand the difference between the Old and New Testaments.

When Thomas Kibirige, the principal of CRM’s Restoration Bible Training Centre visited this place, he found much zeal in learning the word compared to the urban centres.

The Restoration Bible Training Centre has initiated an extensive program, which will provide a full year of training courses in the Nakaseke district. We are teaching ministerial studies, leadership development, ministerial ethics, and practical approaches to the bible. The church leaders here lack skills of work and creativity in academic discipline; this identified as the “Pauline Theology of Tent Making”.

Some Pastors, especially ladies who can not ride a bicycle, have to walk a distance of 2 to 3 miles to come to school. CRM has offered this training for the past 5 months voluntarily, but it is costly in terms of facilitation. The Semuto class has currently got 50 students and in March this year over 50 more church leaders are to be enrolled for further training. We ordained 32 pastors recently in Kappeeka village in Nakaseke District.
