Bombo School Project
Salvation Way Primary School
Several years ago John Bunjo had a vision to build a good school to provide education for orphaned and needy children. At about this time God placed Simon & Jane Sullivan from England before John.

By 2004 it was felt that we needed to do something as the school was still a long way off, so the Child Sponsorship Program was started.

In January 2006 Jane went to Uganda with a team to take photographs and profile prospective children for sponsorship.

In the mean time things were moving along in the background; John was putting down on paper the vision that God had given him and a professional company was employed to produce the detailed plans and images that you can see on these pages.

By early 2007 the plans and costing's were all done. We had intended building on the 8 acres of land we had purchased at Nanywa, 2 miles from Bombo, but the donation of 5 acres of prime land by a former student of Restoration Bible Training Centre, changed our plans. This land in within within the boundaries of Bombo itself.

The cost of the entire project is budgeted at just under 3,000,000,000 Ugandan Shillings, this converts into the following currencies:
   US Dollars ~ $1,750,000       UK Pounds ~ £880,000       Euro ~ €1,300,000
at average exchange rates

Due to the size of this project we have had to break it down into smaller parts, each of which has it´s own page, together with a page which is devoted to the Latest News about the progress. Phases 1 & 2 will run consecutively, but the order might change for the rest.

Construction began in late December 2007 when Bombo town council made a road onto the site. This allowed materials to be brought in and soon piles of locally made bricks and building materials were everywhere. Building began in January 2008 and the first building, the Site Office & Store was completed by the beginning of February.

Phase 1 of the project, the Pre Primary section began in March. Because the needs of the children are so great we have decided to break this phase into two. We will finish building half of the pre-primary building and build a temporary kitchen, teacher and house mother facilities so that we can get some children who into the school quickly. In the mean while the rest of the building will continue as planned.

We are believing in the Lord for the finance for this project; if you feel lead to help out then please consider coming into Partnership with us.
